Tragedy Strikes In California As 1-Year-Old Child Is Killed By Amazon Delivery Van
Horrific news from Irvine, California, as a 23-month-old toddler has died after being hit by an Amazon delivery van in the car park of an apartment block.
The unnamed toddler was pronounced dead at the scene just after 3.30pm on Tuesday after she was struck by the Amazon delivery vehicle. She had reportedly been playing in the driveway near her family's garage when she was struck by the vehicle. Local residents phoned 911 after being notified of the accident by the sounds of "the mother screaming".
Emergency services were quickly on the scene but tragically couldn't save the little girl. Local authorities announced that "Irvine Police are investigating a traffic collision that resulted in the death of a 23-month-old girl".
The area was cordoned off for several hours while authorities carried out their investigations. As yet no official cause of the incident has been confirmed, however, police have stated that "drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor".
