Holly Newton Murder: Teenage Boy Charged Over Murder Of Hexham Schoolgirl
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of 15-year-old Holly Newton, who was stabbed to death in Hexham on Friday. Another teenager was also wounded in the incident.

Holly Newton, 15, was attacked in the Priestpopple area of Hexham on Friday. The young victim was found suffering from serious injuries at around 5.10pm. The schoolgirl was rushed to hospital, but despite the best efforts of the medical professionals, she was tragically pronounced dead later.
Another teenager, a 16-year-old boy, was also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Authorities say he is currently in a stable condition.
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with murder, attempted murder, and possession of an offensive weapon.
The suspect is due to appear before Newcastle magistrates on Monday.
Northumbria Police said the attack is being treated as an isolated incident and that the victim and suspect were known to each other.
A police spokesperson said: "Holly still had so much left to look forward to in life, and this tragic incident has left her family devastated beyond words.
"Our thoughts are with both families involved and their loved ones as we continue to support them in every way we can.
"The investigation is ongoing, and we would like to thank the people of Hexham - and beyond - who have greatly assisted with our inquiries and shown their support.
"While our inquiries continue, we do believe all those involved are known to each other and there is no wider risk to the public.
"Officers will remain in the area over the coming days, and we would encourage anyone with concerns to speak directly with them."
A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist the family in paying for Holly's funeral expenses while trying to come to terms with the loss of their daughter.
